Project Description

Luxury house built on a budget in the heart of the conservation area in Shaftesbury.

This contemporary house was built to a strict budget of £250 in 2007 for local artists. The house was nicknamed 'Box House' because of its simple geometric forms - 2 two storey boxes linked by a tall central predominately glass atrium. The three structures all have monopitch roofs at different angles and together make an interesting group.

The self-build house was built in the back garden of the clients Victorian home. The large amount of glazing to the rear of the property allows for magnificent views across Blackmoor Vale towards Glastonbury Tor and Stourhead.
