Village Hall, A new vernacular community centre, Horton & Chalbury, Dorset

Project Description

This new community village hall was built in 2009. It is built on a greenbelt exception site on land gifted to the community. It is situated opposite the Horton Tower Folly and commands views over the Dorset countryside.

The hall was part funded by the lottery heritage fund and local community resources helped bring the project to fruition.

Awards: LABC Building Excellence Awards 2010, Winner 'Best Community Development' Category.
