Project Description

New two and a half storey block of flats on Leatherhead Road, Chessington

The proposed scheme comprises of a two and a half storey, three-unit dwelling and has employed a traditional vernacular style to help root the scheme within the surrounding context making a positive contribution to the street scene. This was a crucial part of the design process due to the location of the site being on a main road between Leatherhead and Chessington and will therefore have a big impact on passers by both pedestrian and vehicular.

Materials mainly consist of buff brick which is largely used within the area and ensures the building sits comfortably within the surrounding context. Large exposed balconies are encased within an extruded louvered frame to better integrate them into the architectural language of the building.
