Situated in North Dorset, this was a barn conversion into a one and a half storey dwelling, which would still remain rather subservient within its village setting. Implementation of dormer windows and roof lights still allow the first-floor habitable spaces to gain sufficient natural light without having to raise the existing roof line. The existing barn consisted of mostly red brickwork. You can notice where flint has been used to fill in the gaps where the barn openings used to be. In this conversion project, newer red brick elements are also introduced to the dwelling to maintain the character of the former barn.
