Contemporary detached house in rural Devon, set within an AONB with far reaching valley views. The design incorporates concrete, glass, steel and water in this unique, site specific scheme.
The client was looking to demolish the existing farm house on this Devon site, to be replaced with a large detached, contemporary family home. Our proposal comprised of two contemporary forms of glass and shuttered concrete which make the most of the countryside views and access to their surrounding land. The stream running through the site was to be incorporated into the design, eventually creating a feature wall of water that trickled in view of the entire building.
