The existing house was complete remodelled. The existing roof was removed and an additional floor of living accommodation was added. The modern design of this contemporary has a palette of materials that accentuates the striking new form of the house. The main living space is dual aspect and addresses the views and the rear garden. Large windows negate the need for artificial lighting and thus reduce energy consumption. Large openings are located to the front and back of the house only. A lightweight highly insulated frame forms the new structure for the first floor with the possibility of using a prefabricated shell to reduce time on site.
