Conversion of a redundant cowshed barn to create three new homes near Bradford Abbas and Sherborne under Class Q Prior Approval.

One of several redundant buildings on this former historic farmyard site in Dorset, the cowshed was blessed with extensive panoramic views over open countryside.

The asbestos roof has been replaced with corrugated metal sheet. Horizontal timber cladding on the external walls give a contemporary appearance whilst retaining the agricultural aesthetic adjacent to the Grade 2* residential tithe barn, a scheduled ancient monument.

Internally the original steel roof trusses have been retained, left exposed and painted with red oxide to express the history of the building.
