The Cross Keys Pub is located on Cheap Street and is a Grade II Listed Building within the Conservation Area. The pub is set over 3 floors and is constructed of red brick and stone to the front elevation and Ham stone to the rear.
The proposal aims to sensitively update and simplify this complex building, retaining its current use as a public house but creating better spaces for dining capacity. In addition, the managers accommodation and staff facilities will be improved. The project aims to remove unsightly, inappropriate and intrusive past alterations, allowing the structures to return to a more original appearance and form.
To the rear of the building a new metal framed glazed lantern roof will be installed bring in plenty of light and giving views of the Abbey to diners.
