UK Property Awards 2016-2017

Chaddesley Glen

WDA are proud to announce that one of the pair of houses at 32 Chaddesley Glen, Poole has been Highly Commended in the UK Property Awards. This house now known as Nautilus was recognised in the the 'Architecture Single Residence' category, South West Region.

The design of No.34 together with the topography of the site enabled the creation of an undercroft garage on the lower ground floor. The semi circular stone plinth on the ground floor creates a curved stair on both sides of the wall and sweeping entrance that leads from the garage below up to the hallway at ground floor. The ground floor features 3 double bedrooms, all of which have their own ensuite and benefit from either south or west light as well as views of the surrounding trees that in turn afford privacy.

The first floor accommodates an open plan living space with dining, kitchen and seating area that opens to a rear terrace. External steps connect this space to the garden. The second floor accommodates the Master Suite which benefits from generous sweeping views of Poole Harbour.

Purbeck stone has been used for the ground floor plinth. White render has been utilised at first floor and Trespa cladding for the second floor. Precise and minimalist detailing has been used for corners and joints in order to present a crisp and clean contemporary feel. Vertical dark grey cladding is used on the ground floor elevations.
