Arena Business Centres offers flexible working spaces for companies of all sizes allowing businesses to upscale or downscale their working environments as needs arise. WDA are proud to continually work closely with Arena Business Centres to renovate and extend a number of locations in their impressive commercial portfolio. The current pandemic has proved a challenging time for many businesses. We interviewed Marketing Director Helen Deverill to find out how they have been affected and what the future holds.
This past year has been challenging for many businesses. How has the pandemic effected your business?
The way we work has been turned upside down over the past year. We have seen an increased demand for flexible workspaces whether an entrepreneur, SME or corporate. Perhaps most noticeable is the step towards flexible working and the emergence of a main office ‘hub’ and subsequent workspace ‘spokes’ for teams.
What changes did you have to make to your existing work spaces?
It is our priority to help our clients and their teams work safely, effectively and confidently. We ensured that our centres remained open throughout so we could adopt the very latest guidance including hand sanitiser stations, reception ‘track and trace’ apps, increased cleaning frequency, refined air quality and social distanced communal areas. We have similarly helped our clients create bespoke covid safe working environments within their office.
Looking to the future, how do you think the design of your workspaces and communal spaces will change to provide safe working environments for your clients?
We are fully focused in working consultatively with every client to deliver the space they need to perform and succeed. Our workspaces are fully flexible with the ability to create bespoke spaces such as meeting rooms, touch down areas and work pods.
Do you foresee more companies using your facilities in the future? What are the benefits compared to working from home?
Flexible workspaces such as Arena give the ability to stay agile and control your costs which is critical for every type of business. There is renewed confidence in returning to flexible workspace. The need as human beings to interact within well-designed workspaces with like-minded professionals is key. The benefits to mental health in leaving for work creates the much-needed lineation between work and home with increased productivity.
