Blandford in Dorset has lost nine pubs, three of them within the last 12 months, leaving very few option for having a drink in the town centre. We are really pleased to have gained planning approval for a new wine and tapas bar which will benefit the locals and nearby businesses. The approval permits a change of use from A1 Retail to A4 Drinking Establishment.
The unused listed shop in Salisbury street was unmarketable due to its lack of fire escape. Western Design Architects resolved this challenge with a comprehensive sprinkler system through ongoing discussions with building control and Dorset fire and rescue.
This establishment will be only one of two in the town with disabled access.
This has been a really well received planning approval with plenty of local support. We look forward to the opening party.
