Completed project: Dorset barn conversion complex

We are pleased to share the photographs of this recently completed complex of converted barns, set within the Dorset National Landscape near Shillingstone.

The design at Gains Cross Farm takes a restrained approach, retaining the barns’ original materials and agricultural character while introducing carefully considered new openings.

Removing later modern structures restored the clarity of the historic courtyard and its original rural setting.

Our planning approval converted the group of barns into six characterful new homes. The applicant subsequently sought a further change of use to enable the buildings to operate as a commercial business park, building upon the ‘residential use’ planning approval secured by WDA.
