Adding a room in the roof, a stylish kitchen, modern extension or an annexe could all be options subject to the relevant local planning legislation and permitted development rights (PD).
As RIBA accredited Conservation Architects, Western Design are experienced in renovating historic, sensitive and listed buildings including the addition of contemporary extensions.
It is important to remember that unlike new build houses (which are zero rated), if you are making alterations to an existing building, it may be subject to VAT on building costs.
