Construction on our contemporary new Dorset house, Charlton Acres is underway!
Two craftsman from MBC Timber Frames Ltd erected the entire house in under two weeks.
The frame is already watertight and fully insulated will cellulose insulation, ready for first fix. Once the windows and doors are installed shortly, the building will be air tight and ready for air testing. The top lift of scaffolding will be dropped, as soon as the roof is completed next week, along with the fascia and guttering.
The timber frames arrived on site complete with insulation and waterproofing. They were then craned into position on to the concrete slab. This form of construction is simple, accurate, strong and cost effective because the scaffolding is erected for such a short period.
This construction method is so strong, that the whole of the first floor of this upside down house is a clear span with no internal walls. You can already see what a great space this will be for the clients.
The open plan living areas are all located on the first storey, taking full advantage of the stunning panoramic countryside views!
