Planning Approval Granted for Casterbridge Lodge Care Home Extension

Casterbridge Lodge, a 34-bedroom Extra Care facility in Dorset, has received planning approval for a contemporary extension to enhance resident comfort and operational efficiency.

The approved design includes 12 new bedroom suites, staff accommodation pods, and a tranquil day room connecting residents to the surrounding natural environment.

The extension’s sensitive design harmonises with the landscape and complements the existing traditional  building, while preserving spectacular rural views. The project also includes landscaping improvements, increased parking capacity, and eco-friendly elements like a green roof, solar panels, and EV charging points.

Sustainability and biodiversity are key focuses, with new tree planting and wildflower meadows enriching the site. The extension modernizes the facility while ensuring it blends seamlessly into its scenic setting, providing a brighter future for both residents and staff.
