This is a contemporary glass box extension to an old brick and stone farm bungalow, some of which dates back to the 18th Century.

The client was keen to produce something that looked striking but also performed well environmentally.

A loft conversion creates a master bedroom suite overlooking the smallholding. Although this dwelling is in open countryside and within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) the proposals flew through the pre-application advice and gained full planning consent with only standard conditions.

The upgrades to the existing property offset the large areas of glazing giving, the client superb country views without compromising on thermal efficiency.
