Work is progressing well at CODA Music Trust in Christchurch

Working with Phil Hallet at Coda, the redundant former agricultural buildings are being transformed into a series of independent artist studios, exhibition space, music rehearsal area and café.

As part of the Coda Capital Development Project, and to celebrate their 25th year, these new facilities will compliment the existing services by providing a range of educational activities and skills workshops for children and adults.

The flexible spaces will also provide clinical and participatory programmes using the arts as a tool for therapy, health and wellbeing.

The new facilities will enable Coda to extend the charity’s offer of music tuition, classes, workshops, group music-making and therapy into new and broader fields of artistic practice, creating a new centre for everyday creativity.

The design has been created with a strong environmental drive as key part of the planning process. This is reflected in the use of renewable energy and photo voltaic panels, inclusion of EV charge points and a secure bike store, the use of natural, sustainable materials where possible and creating areas for biodiversity.

We look forward to seeing the completion of the centre towards the end of July 2024 for this important local charity.
