Exciting new Class Q ‘fallback’ planning approval for a contemporary home

We are pleased to have gained planning approval for a stunning new home in rural Dorset, to replace an existing farm barn.

Following a positive pre-application meeting and constructive communication & feedback with the Local Authority planning officer, the planning process was smooth and successful.

WDA first gained prior approval for Class Q Permitted Development to convert the barn into a house. The precedent of being able to provide a new house in open countryside was now set. We were then able to improve on this approval and submit a full planning application for an entirely new house, partially on the footprint of the existing barn.
