Project Revisit: A small housing development in Lytchett Matravers

We’re excited to share photos from Poppy Place, a residential project located just outside the village of Lytchett Matravers in Dorset.

Nestled on the former site of the Royal British Legion Club, this thoughtfully designed cul-de-sac comprises nine high-quality 3 & 4 bedroom homes, perfectly scaled for the local area.

The design draws on local vernacular styles, using a mix of traditional materials and individual detailing to give each house character. Landscaping and planting help the homes settle naturally into their rural village edge setting, with open countryside views enhancing the sense of place.

Poppy Place demonstrates how small-scale developments can elevate the character of rural communities through sensitive design, thoughtful detailing, and context-aware planning. The new images beautifully capture how modern homes can feel rooted in tradition while offering contemporary livability.
