The project will see Barn D, located on the northern side of the farmyard, sensitively adapted for modern living while retaining much of its agricultural character. Key elements of the scheme include:

• The addition of new windows to the north-west and south elevations, bringing natural light into the building.

• The infilling of the open east elevation, enclosing the structure for residential use.

• The creation of parking spaces to serve the new home.

• The establishment of a private garden area, transforming the barn into a functional family residence.

The main living accommodation will be situated on the ground floor, with a mezzanine level above housing three generously sized bedrooms. The curved roof will remain within the interior, creating a striking architectural feature that enhances the sense of space and character.

The proposed conversion reflects a wider trend of repurposing historic farm buildings to ensure their long-term preservation, while also contributing to local housing needs.

WDA prepared the full drawing package, produced the Design & Access Statements and Planning Statements, and liaised with the planning case officer to successfully negotiate approval.
